Zellerfeld opens shop for 3D-printed shoes

Zellerfeld, a pioneer in the field of 3D-printed shoes, is ending its beta phase and opening its platform to all designers. The start-up, which has already produced shoes for renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton and Moncler, now allows anyone to upload and sell their own 3D shoe designs.

Founder Cornelius Schmidt expects over 1,000 new designs to be available on the platform by the end of the year. He emphasises the importance of feedback from beta users for the further development of the service.

Zellerfeld is introducing several innovations to improve the user experience. These include a $10 slot system where customers can reserve a print slot and change the design up until the start of production. In addition, the platform now offers full transparency of the status in the print queue and promises faster response times for customer support.

The product itself has also been further developed. The focus is on improvements in fit, durability and comfort. A new, printed textile is to be introduced in the coming weeks and will ensure a higher-quality feel.
