Visionware3D presents 3D printing software Z-Engine

The Australian company Visionware3D has launched Z-Engine, a new software platform designed to improve the 3D printing workflow.

Z-Engine is a customisable and modular control software for 3D printers. It supports the entire 3D printing workflow and is compatible with a wide range of printers – from low-cost home-use models to high-performance industrial machines.

A key feature of the platform is its versatility. It runs under Windows as well as on various Linux-based embedded systems. It also offers APIs that are compatible with C/C++ and other programming languages. The software can be used regardless of the 3D printing process used.

The Z-Engine comprises several function modules. The Core Functionality Module covers parameter management, job management, print sequence handling, logging and configuration. The Z-Slicer function enables both pre-slicing and real-time processing. This eliminates the need to slice entire jobs in advance.

Other functions include motion control with support for various motion controllers, I/O management for temperature control and interfaces for projection systems (DLP and MSLA) and jetting systems (inkjet). In addition, the Z-Engine offers an integrated inspection system called Z-Inspection.
