Sketchfab Introduces New VR Features for 3D Models and Scenes

The 3D model viewing platform Sketchfab introduces new VR features for its users: VR launcher, teleportation and scene editior.

Sketchfab has currently over 500,000 contributing to close to 1 million VR-viewable experiences. With the new features, viewing these 3D models will be even more pleasurable and easier.

With VR Browsing it is no longer necessary to leave the VR experience to see other work. Users can now use the “View in VR” button to launch a VR interface on any browsing section.

Using the VR Teleportation feature with Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR on your mobile device, the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift with a WebVR compatible browser allows you to move around Sketchfab scenes or models .

The new VR Scene editor has been added to the 3D settings. It allows users to place the initial viewer location and viewing direction and quickly set the human scale and floor level of the scene or model.
