Revopoint MIRACO: Inexpensive standalone 3D scanner launches on Kickstarter

Revopoint 3D, a global leader in 3D scanning technology, has just unveiled its first standalone 3D scanner, Revopoint MIRACO, on Kickstarter. The scanner offers professional capabilities at a fraction of the cost of comparable models for reverse engineering, quality control, automotive design, rapid prototyping and more.

At only 750 grams, the Revopoint MIRACO is one of the lightest standalone 3D scanners in the world. Its powerful four-depth camera system and structured infrared light projector can scan large and small objects – a feature that sets MIRACO apart from many other 3D scanners that can only capture one object size.

At the same time, MIRACO achieves an impressive single-frame accuracy of 0.05 mm at 100 mm for capturing fine details and 0.5 mm at 1000 mm for quickly capturing shape data.

Not only can MIRACO capture two object sizes, but the device also features a powerful 48MP RGB camera for creating stunning 8K photorealistic 3D models, ready for graphic design or CGI.

For truly flexible scanning, MIRACO offers two acquisition modes. Single capture for hard-to-track objects or objects with sharply color-contrasted surfaces to reduce artifacts from overlapping point clouds. When time is short, MIRACO’s “Continuous Mode” provides fast acquisition at up to 16 fps.

MIRACO is powered by a powerful 8-core 2.8 GHz processor, 256 GB hard drive, 6′′ 2K AMOLED touchscreen and either 16 GB RAM (up to 5,000 captured frames) or 32 GB RAM (up to 10,000 captured frames) depending on the version.

The power-saving hardware allows up to two hours of scanning with the built-in 5,000 mAh battery. The battery can be charged to 85% in just 30 minutes with the 50W fast charger.

The combination of powerful scanning and cost efficiency make MIRACO an excellent choice for professionals who don’t want a tangle of cables and don’t want to lug around a laptop or similar device.

MIRACO is now available on Kickstarter with discounts of up to 40% for early backers.
