PrintMon Maker: Bambu Lab expands MakerWorld with AI-supported 3D modelling

The 3D printer manufacturer Bambu Lab has added an interesting function to its online platform MakerWorld. The new ‘PrintMon Maker’ uses artificial intelligence to generate 3D models of ‘monsters’ from text or image input. This extension aims to encourage user creativity and facilitate access to 3D modelling.

The functionality of the PrintMon Maker is straightforward: Users can either enter a text description or upload an image. The AI processes this input and uses it to create a 3D model. Users then have the option of ‘hashing’ the generated model – a playful term for finalising the 3D model.

Bambu Lab initially offers users 50 credits, which is enough for five free models. Further credits can be earned by collecting points on the platform. The cost is 10 credits per finalised model.

A particular advantage of PrintMon Maker is its seamless integration into Bambu Studio. Generated models can be loaded directly into the printing software and printed without any further adjustments. This considerably simplifies the workflow from the idea to the finished 3D print.
