Philament Announced PLA Composite Filaments for Industrial 3D Printing Applications

PLA is one of the most frequent bought and used 3D printing materials. People love the material because it’s non-toxic and very easy to print. Philament is already producing “normal” PLA filament and now they want to start selling three new sorts that should be perfect for different industrial applications.

The first new material is “Philament Model” – like the name suggests this material is designed for 3D printing of 3D models. It will be easily possible to sand, polish and polish the material – no matter if you do this dry or wet. It can also be used as an easy to remove support material.

“Philament ESD” is the second new material and its electrical conductive. Because of this property it can be used to build cases for electronics. The third new material is probably the most interesting: “Philament Heat Resistant” it’s also a PLA but it should resist heats up to 170 degree C without any deforming. Unlike other materials this special PLA will need higher printing temperatures.

More and more industries are taking advantage of 3D printing. As the technology is widely used, the users are becoming more creative and want to explore new areas where 3D printing could support their work. Because of the limitations of the filaments they haven’t been able to do this.

The price range of the new materials will be from 32€ up to 53€ per 0.7 5kg. Philament is actively searching distributors inside the European Union that want to sell all products that they produce.
