One Click Metal uses metal 3D printing solutions for the medical sector

The use of 3D printing in medical technology opens up new possibilities for the production of titanium applications. One Click Metal specializes in this technology and offers solutions that make it possible to manufacture both individual and serial medical products precisely and cost-effectively.

Italian medical device manufacturer MDE, based in Brescia, Italy, specializes in the production of medical devices and supports its customers through the research and development phase as well as prototyping. The company started with a 3D printing system from One Click Metal to produce stainless steel medical devices and prototypes. Due to the growth in sales of additive parts, MDE recently invested in a second system that specializes in processing titanium. This further expands MDE’s capacity to produce high-quality medical components.

„We decided to buy a metal printer from One Click Metal in order to be able to produce custom components quickly and in house and to be able to print innovative components that cannot be realized with classical mechanical techniques”, said Carolina Curti, MDE.

One Click Metal has also made significant contributions to the dental market in collaboration with imes-icore. Imes-icore offers a complete solution for the dental industry, focusing on the mass production of dental applications. This partnership underlines the versatility and reliability of the technology in various medical disciplines.

One of imes-icore’s customers, the dental laboratory J.B. Zahntechnik, uses the hybrid manufacturing system from imes-icore and One Click Metal to produce high-precision dental prostheses and restorations. By integrating CAD/CAM milling with advanced metal 3D printing, the system ensures an excellent fit and durability, which improves patient outcomes. The optimized process shortens production time and reduces costs, allowing dentists to provide high-quality solutions more efficiently.

A representative from J.B. Zahntechnik praised the technology: “We had a real wow effect, and that’s crucial with additive technology: better reproducibility, increased efficiency and much more precise results compared to analog manufacturing. You can print thinner than you model and, most importantly, there is no need to regrind anything.”

One Click Metal will showcase its metal 3D printing technology at the upcoming Rapid + TCT show 2024 in Los Angeles. This event is the largest additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing technology show in North America and offers visitors the opportunity to see how One Click Metal’s solutions can improve manufacturing processes in various industries. Interested parties can meet the One Click Metal team at booth 1114.
