Mechnano receives award for advances in 3D printing with Formula1B

The US company Mechnano was honoured with the Mexico Technology Award 2024 in the Additive Manufacturing category for Formula1B. The award ceremony took place on 11 September 2024 as part of the SMTA Guadalajara Expo, which recognises outstanding achievements in electronics manufacturing. Formula1B impressed the jury with its groundbreaking improvements in additive manufacturing and was recognised as pioneering new applications in the industry.

Formula1B is based on Mechnano’s proprietary technology that distributes functionalized carbon nanotubes in a material matrix. This process not only improves the electrostatic discharge (ESD) of 3D printed components, but also their mechanical properties such as tensile strength and impact resistance. This combination makes Formula1B an ideal choice for applications in the aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics and medical industries.

“We are honored to receive the 2024 Mexico Technology Award for Formula1B,” said Olga “Dr. O” Ivanova, Director of Applications & Technology at Mechnano. “Our team is dedicated to pushing the limits of what the electronics manufacturing industry can achieve by using additive manufacturing. Formula1B offers nano-uniform ESD performance and precision for 3D-printed components, which are becoming increasingly important in the Semiconductor, Packaging, and Microelectronics sectors.”

What makes Formula1B special is its ability to ensure consistent ESD performance in printed components, which is particularly in demand in highly sensitive industries. This opens up new possibilities for the use of 3D printed components in areas where traditional manufacturing methods have dominated until now.

The presentation of the Mexico Technology Award emphasises Mechnano’s innovative strength in the field of additive manufacturing. With Formula1B, the company is setting new standards for the performance and reliability of 3D-printed parts designed for demanding industrial applications.
