Godiz S.L becomes the first official Meltio service centre for 3D metal printing in Spain and Portugal

Meltio, a leading provider of laser metal deposition technologies, has announced that Godiz, a major provider of industrial machining services, has been appointed as the first official service office for Meltio’s wire laser metal 3D printing solutions in Spain and Portugal. This milestone was achieved in collaboration with Sicnova, Meltio’s official distributor in the Iberian Peninsula.

Meltio, a company specializing in laser metal deposition, now enables Godiz to print high-precision metal parts using the company’s proprietary wire laser technology. Sicnova, Meltio’s distributor in the Iberian Peninsula, has brokered this collaboration to promote the use of additive manufacturing technology in the region.

About this partnership, Francisco Gómez, CEO of Godiz, states: “With the acquisition of Meltio’s technology, we are closer to achieving our goal of being able to manufacture any type of part that would be practically impossible through conventional methods. This, along with our already established machining service, allows us to manufacture almost any type of part across a wide range of materials. Our goal is also to carry out repairs on high-value materials using the cladding technique, repairs that until now were outside our service portfolio. In short, this collaboration with Meltio will enable us to grow technologically and offer a wider range of services to our existing and potential clients, reaching areas we previously couldn’t.”

Meltio’s wire laser technology works with a welding wire that is inserted into a laser-generated melt pool. This offers a cost-effective and efficient solution for manufacturing complex metal parts. The process is characterized by the use of standard welding wire as the metal material, which makes it particularly attractive for industries looking for affordable and sustainable production methods.

And Francisco González, sales EMEA manager at Meltio, highlights the value of this agreement as follows: “We are thrilled to be working with Godiz and Sicnova, as the collaboration between sales and integration partners within the Meltio ecosystem is critical to fast-track technology adoption in a territory. With Godiz’s expertise we are now able to bring an end-to-end solution to customers that require hybrid manufacturing metal printed parts in Spain and Portugal.”

As part of this partnership, Godiz will be able to utilize the Meltio Engine Robot Integration System to expand the manufacturing capabilities of their robot cells. This will not only enable the production of new parts, but also the repair of existing metal components, which is particularly beneficial in industries with high demands on the precision and complexity of components.

“Godiz plays a key role in our ecosystem, as an official Meltio Service Bureau in Spain and Portugal. At Sicnova we firmly believe in the potential of this hybrid technology, which combines the best of subtractive technology with metal additive manufacturing, for companies in the industrial sector that want to take a step further in their production processes, with a special focus on machining”, says Agustín García, Sales Director at Sicnova.

For Meltio, the collaboration with Godiz and Sicnova is an important step in promoting the acceptance of its technology in the industry. Godiz’s expertise in the manufacture and repair of complex components ideally complements Meltio’s 3D printing solutions, providing customers in Spain and Portugal with a comprehensive offering.
