Fully automated solution for additive manufacturing with the AMPro Sieve Station Connect

Additive manufacturing, better known as 3D printing, has become an indispensable part of numerous industries in recent years, from aerospace to healthcare. However, with the increasing use of 3D printing processes, the importance of the consistently high quality of the materials used, especially the metal powders, is also growing. These play a central role in the production of precise and durable components. One of the biggest challenges is to ensure the purity and consistency of these powders.

This is where the new, fully automated Russell AMPro Sieve Station Connect comes in. This modular system has been specifically designed to maximise efficiency in the sieving of powders. The main aim of the system is to ensure that the powder used meets the high quality standards of additive manufacturing at all times. By integrating into existing production lines, the screening station is designed not only to minimise waste, but also to promote the reuse of materials.

The system reliably prevents cross-contamination due to easy-to-clean components and reduces the operator’s direct contact with the powder. A particular advantage of the system is its modular design. It can be flexibly connected to other peripheral devices such as printers or storage tanks. According to the company, the fully automated operation ensures that operator intervention is reduced to a minimum. This not only contributes to increased efficiency, but also to safety.

“The Russell AMPro Sieve Station is incredibly intuitive to use, conveying and sieving into a compact unit. The reliability and repeatability offered by this machine made it the best solution for us, improving powder traceability and quality, and future-proofing long-term collaboration between Russell Finex and the MTC for years to come”, said Vince Sparrow, MTC.

As 3D printing solutions become more widespread, optimising material quality will play an increasingly central role. Solutions such as the AMPro Sieve Station help to sustainably increase efficiency and product quality in additive manufacturing
