ELEGOO presents new entry-level 3D printer Centauri Carbon

3D printer manufacturer ELEGOO is presenting its latest models at RAPID + TCT 2024 in Los Angeles. The focus is on the Centauri Carbon, ELEGOO’s first CoreXY printer, which has been specially designed for beginners.

The Centauri Carbon is designed to lower the barriers to entry in 3D printing. Chris Hong, founder and CEO of ELEGOO, explains: “The Centauri Carbon aims to set a new industry standard by being extremely user-friendly and accessible to everyone.” The device is aimed at a wide range of users, from hobbyists to artists and small businesses.

Technically, the Centauri Carbon is characterized by its fully enclosed die-cast aluminum housing and an integrated AI camera. The name of the printer is inspired by the science fiction novel “The Three Suns” by Liu Cixin. The Centauri Carbon is due to be launched on the market before September.

In addition to the Centauri Carbon, ELEGOO will also be presenting the new Mars 5 and Mars 5 Ultra resin printers. The Mars 5 Ultra achieves printing speeds of up to 150 mm/h and features a new type of tilt-release technology for faster model removal. A special feature is the ability to calibrate the exposure time of the resin in up to eight segments, which enables precise settings for optimum printing results.

The Mars 5 is designed as a more cost-effective version, but retains many of the features of the Ultra model. Both printers have self-checking and automatic leveling functions, making it easy to get started.

ELEGOO, founded in Shenzhen in 2015, has become a major player in the 3D printing market in recent years. The company sells its products in almost 80 countries and achieved a turnover of over 200 million US dollars in 2023.
