Dremel 3D50: New high-speed 3D printer from Dremel

Dremel, known for hand tools, is expanding its 3D printer portfolio. The new 3D50, which is due to be released later this year, is aimed specifically at the education sector. Since the introduction of its first 3D printer ten years ago, Dremel has steadily expanded its range.

The 3D50 utilises the latest high-speed technology. With print speeds of up to 700 mm/s and accelerations of 20,000 mm/s², it outperforms many competitor models. According to Dremel, it is six times faster than its predecessor, the 3D45.

Technically, the 3D50 is based on a CoreXY motion system and utilises the Klipper firmware. This combination can also be found in other high-speed printers. The enclosed installation space measures 256 x 256 x 256 mm.

Dremel pays particular attention to safety and certifications. All devices undergo rigorous UL testing, including drop tests and firmware safety testing.

The 3D50 has a hardened steel nozzle with a high flow rate. It processes common materials such as ABS, PETG, PA, PLA and PC as well as engineering plastics. A HEPA 12 filter system reduces emissions in the classroom.

Features include a magnetic autolevelling system and three independent Z-axis motors. Dremel also provides lesson plans and offers a one-year warranty and lifetime support.
