CRP Technology showcases 3D printing solutions at the Drone X Expo

CRP Technology, known for its additive manufacturing solutions, will be exhibiting at this year’s Drone X Expo on 24 and 25 September 2024 in London. The company will be exhibiting various drone parts manufactured using the selective laser sintering (SLS) process and its proprietary Windform composite materials on stand B40. These components illustrate the growing importance of 3D printing in the drone industry.

For almost 30 years, CRP Technology has been setting the standard in additive manufacturing, particularly in the production of high-performance prototypes and end products for various high-tech sectors. The Windform materials are characterised by excellent mechanical properties and therefore offer optimal conditions for applications in aviation and especially in drone technology. At the Drone X Expo, trade visitors will have the opportunity to see the advantages of these materials for themselves.

A central exhibit are drone parts such as modular drone arms and housings made of carbon fibre-reinforced Windform SP and Windform XT 2.0. These materials offer high strength at low weight and ensure a robust yet aerodynamic structure. Other parts on display include gearbox housings for tail rotors and customised components specially developed for demanding operating conditions. The use of Windform GT has also made it possible to create flexible drone frames for tests that are characterised by high resistance.

In addition to drone parts, CRP Technology will also be demonstrating how Windform composites can be used in other areas of the aerospace industry. These include components such as control wheels, covers or wing parts, which also benefit from the precise properties of the SLS process. CRP Technology also has experience in manufacturing components for the space sector, including structures for cubesats that have already been used in successful space missions.

For industry professionals, a visit to the CRP Technology stand offers a unique opportunity to discover the potential of these technologies in drone manufacturing.
