CoreTechnologie improves converter tools for optimized 3D dimensions and PMI

The Franco-German software developer CoreTechnologie has updated its conversion software tools 3D_Analyzer and 3D_Evolution. With the new versions, CAD data can be read using Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) and converted into the widely used 3D PDF format with functional 3D dimensions.

With the updated versions of 3D_Analyzer and 3D_Evolution, CAD data can be imported from formats such as CATIA V5, NX, Creo, JT or STEP 242. This data, including all PMI and views, can then be opened in an Acrobat PDF viewer. The views stored in the CAD models, which contain 3D dimensions, sections and comments, are thus accessible to authorized users. According to CoreTechnologie, this is a significant step towards the complete integration of 3D models into the industrial production process.

A key feature of the new software versions is the ability to convert the high-end functionalities of the CAD models into PDF format and open them with the free Acrobat Viewer. After loading the 3D PDF models, the PMI results are visible and can be used by selecting the corresponding function in the Acrobat Viewer. The views in the PDF correspond to the views defined in the CAD system and enable a clear presentation of complex 3D models with numerous dimensions.

The new tools from CoreTechnologie support the ongoing digitization and the abandonment of traditional 2D drawings. They contribute to the efficient implementation of the 3D master project by enabling the seamless integration and use of 3D PDFs. This is a further step towards a fully digitized design and manufacturing environment where paper-based drawings are increasingly being replaced by detailed, digital 3D models.
