Bambu Labs MakerWorld launches payment programme for 3D designers

Bambu Lab’s 3D model platform MakerWorld has launched a new programme for model designers. The ‘Exclusive Model Programme’ allows creatives to convert their points into cash and receive legal support for copyright infringements.

Designers can earn points with models, which are converted into cash. The conversion rate is 0.066 USD per point. To participate in the programme, users must have at least 100 total prints for their account.

There is also another option that grants designers additional copyright protection. MakerWorld supports makers in taking legal action against copyright infringements, even outside its own platform. This support is initially aimed at users with over 2,000 total prints or 500 prints of the exclusive model in question.

A minimum amount of 100 USD applies for payouts. MakerWorld will manually review all withdrawal requests to prevent fraud. This process can take up to a week, possibly longer for initial requests.

The programme is currently in the pilot phase. MakerWorld emphasises that feedback from the community is welcome for possible adjustments.
