ASUS Showcases Gaming Motherboards With Customisable Parts

ASUS, a manufacturer of gaming hardware, released motherboards that can easily be customised with 3D printing.

With 3D printing you can personalise your Republic of Gamers motherboards to your needs. ASUS released 3D files that can be modified and produced via 3D printing. These nametags can be easily placed on the motherboard to identify them as yours. This feature might be helpful if you are going to LAN-Parties. Or if you want to personalise your modded, of course with 3D printing, PC case from Thermaltake.

Williams from ASUS Design Center:

“ROG Strix X99 Gaming is born with DIY DNA — so we made 3D-printed accessories to match. The board includes free decals to enable color-ASUS ROG 3D Printingmatched builds for those that desire to project uniqueness and personality. We put our 3D printer to good use to maximize the usability of the friendly design, adding a third dimension to the colourful, producing a huge, battle-ready fan cover, and a sturdy support for the chassis fan — bolstering Strix X99 Gaming’s cooling and strength. The PCH cover is also extended to PCIe area, with hidden LED strips to enable gamers to show off at gaming activities or LAN parties.”

ASUS also offer further personalisation with SLA 3D printing technology. Not only nameplates can be produced with SLA but also chassis fan holders, DRAM fan covers, GPU holders, cable management kits and much more.
