Artec 3D expands product range with high-precision laser scanner Artec Point

Artec 3D, a provider of 3D scanners, has introduced the Artec Point, a new laser scanner for industrial use. The device marks the company’s entry into the field of high-precision measurement technology and complements its existing portfolio of 3D scanners.

The Artec Point is characterised by an accuracy of up to 0.02 millimetres and has been specially developed for demanding measurement tasks such as reverse engineering and quality control. With a scanning speed of up to 120 images per second or 2.8 million measuring points per second, the scanner captures detailed 3D data of objects of varying size and complexity. Particularly noteworthy is its ability to reliably capture even dark, shiny surfaces and deep openings.

Art Yukhin, CEO and President of Artec 3D, emphasises the importance of the new product: ‘With metrological accuracy, high repeatability and a long service life, Artec Point offers a practical solution specifically for industrial use.’ The scanner was verified in an ISO-certified laboratory in accordance with the VDI/VDE 2634 and JJF 1951 standards, ensuring compliance with strict industry standards.

The Artec Point is equipped with a robust metal housing for use in harsh industrial conditions. Despite its robust construction, the scanner remains easy to handle thanks to its ergonomic handle, making it possible to scan areas that are difficult to access.

A special feature of the Artec Point is its full integration into the Artec Studio software. This combination allows easy interfacing with other Artec 3D scanners and offers advanced data processing algorithms. The intuitive user interface is designed to enable users of different experience levels to achieve reliable scanning results.

Yukhin emphasises that the Artec Point stands out in a competitive market by combining precision, ease of use and software integration. These features make the scanner particularly attractive for applications in the automotive, aerospace, manufacturing and heavy industry sectors.

The Artec Spider II, a hand-held 3D scanner for high-resolution scans of smaller objects, was also presented alongside the Artec Point. With these new launches, Artec 3D underlines its endeavour to develop innovative solutions for various industries and application scenarios and to further consolidate its position in the 3D scanning technology market.
