3D Systems introduces new EXT 800 Titan Pellet extrusion system

3D Systems has introduced the latest addition to its portfolio of pellet extrusion systems: the EXT 800 Titan Pellet. With a build volume of 800 x 600 x 800 mm, this new system offers the speed, reliability and efficiency of the large-format EXT Titan Pellet systems in a more compact and cost-effective format. This allows manufacturers to use the EXT 800 Titan Pellet to produce functional prototypes, tooling, fixtures, sand casting patterns, deep draw molds and smaller size end-use parts.

The EXT 800 Titan Pellet features a single extrusion die head and an advanced design that makes it suitable for a variety of manufacturing environments, including offices, labs, universities and larger factory floors. Thanks to its compact frame, the printer fits through a standard double door for easy delivery and installation. A large touchscreen on the front also provides an intuitive user experience.

“The addition of the EXT 800 Titan Pellet to our industry-leading family of pellet extrusion systems allows us to bring this technology to a wider range of manufacturers to enhance their products and innovations,” said Rahul Kasat, Vice President, Titan, 3D Systems. “For manufacturers who value speed and sustainability, our EXT Titan Pellet systems are a game-changing innovation.”

The new system features of the EXT 800 Titan Pellet also make it possible to utilize the performance features of 3D Systems’ larger pellet extrusion printers. These include industrial CNC controls, heated print bed and print chamber for high part accuracy, and the company’s proven pellet extrusion hardware and materials. The technology allows up to ten times faster printing speeds compared to conventional filament printing and significantly reduces material costs. In addition, the active heating of the print bed and printer chamber enables the use of high-temperature, glass- and carbon-filled materials such as ABS, PC, polyamides, PEI and PEKK as well as highly flexible materials such as TPE and TPU.

The EXT 800 Titan Pellet is available to order now, with the first printers expected to ship in the third quarter of 2024. 3D Systems will showcase the new system along with its full portfolio of solutions at the RAPID+TCT event next week in Los Angeles, California. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in presentations and roundtable discussions with 3D Systems executives and application experts.
