3D printing Material enables Production of Soft-Touch Parts

Infinite Material Solutions recently launched Caverna Soft Touch (ST), an elastomer material for professional use.

It is ideal for printing footwear parts, sporting goods, medical devices and other cushioning components. Caverna ST is impregnated with water after printing, giving manufacturers more design freedom without having to retool their equipment or create new molds.

Compared to conventional elastomeric filaments, Caverna ST is stiff and provides excellent print quality in any standard filament printer. It also allows the use of multiple printers in a small space.

“What we’re most excited about with Caverna Soft Touch is the way it revolutionizes how soft touch prints can be used,” says Jon Farren, Materials Research Chemist at Interfacial. “Caverna ST brings precision, reliability, and print fidelity that won’t string, slump, bunch, or clog to professional applications.”

Caverna ST complements Infinite’s range of innovative materials, including AquaSys 120, 180 and general purpose (GP) water-soluble support filaments, and Caverna PP, a polypropylene building material with a water-soluble, co-continuous, microporous morphology.
