A two-day symposium on 3D printing in healthcare will take place in Basel on 6 and 7 September 2024. The event combines the “Symposium on 3D Printing for Life Sciences” (3DP Basel) with the “European Healthcare Forum for Additive Manufacturing” (EHFAM) and brings together leading experts from research and industry.
The first day will be dedicated to the latest research findings and technological developments. The second day will focus on regulatory aspects, implementation strategies and practical applications. The aim is to familiarise users, medical professionals and decision-makers with additive manufacturing solutions.
Renowned speakers include Florian Theringer from Basel University Hospital, Claus Bolte from Swiss Medic and Mark Tan from Singapore General Hospital. Representatives from companies such as BBraun, Stratasys and Materialise will also be giving presentations.
In addition to keynote speeches and panel discussions, the programme also includes a pitch competition for researchers with an award ceremony. The five-year anniversary of MGA Medical will also be celebrated. Exclusive closed sessions will enable in-depth discussions on specific topics.
Prof. Dr Florian Theringer from the University Hospital Basel emphasises the importance of the conference: “This event marks a decisive moment for additive manufacturing in the European healthcare sector. By bringing together different stakeholders, we want to shape the future integration of AM technologies into healthcare systems across Europe and globally.”
