In France, startup Beelse and home improvement chain L’Entrepôt du Bricolage have reached a milestone in the 3D printing industry by becoming the first to offer a 3D printed replacement part to consumers.
The replacement part is a universal tension clamp designed for use in a variety of equipment. It was developed specifically based on the needs of L’Entrepôt du Bricolage’s customer service department.
Using Beelse’s 3D printing technology, which recently received the Solar Impulse Foundation’s environmental seal of approval, the home improvement company can produce the clamp on demand and locally in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region using bio-based materials.
Through this innovation, L’Entrepôt du Bricolage underlines its commitment to an eco-friendly transformation of the industry. The 3D-printed spare part is now available to customers online as well as in the company’s stores.
This is just the beginning – many more 3D-printed spare parts are to follow. L’Entrepôt du Bricolage is thus positioning itself as a pioneer in sustainable and forward-looking technologies in the DIY sector.
